A Quick Look at the Golden Bears California returns home to the New Arena in Oakland this week, where the Bears will play four of their final six games of the 1997-98 season.

Cal is just 2-3 in home games during Pac-10 play, but all three of the losses have come against Top 10 teams. In January, the Bears narrowly lost to UCLA, 74-73, and held Arizona to a season-low 70 points in a 70-57 setback. Two weeks ago, Cal fell to Stanford by a 74-72 score.

The Bears are coming off two good performances on the road, defeating USC, 73-43, and dropping a close, 87-84, decision at UCLA. In the USC game, Cal allowed its fewest points in a conference game since 1985 when Washington beat the Bears, 41-38, during the pre-shot clock era. The 30-point margin of victory was the eighth-largest on the road in Cal school history.
