BEAR FACTS AND FIGURES: The 1997 NCAA champion California men's gymnastics team is ranked No. 1 in the nation with a 17-0 record...the Bears recorded the highest team point total in the nation this year with a 233.490 at the Gold's Challenge two weeks in Santa Barbara; that mark is the second-best in Cal history...Cal is nationally ranked in the Top 10 in every event: No. 1 on the high bar (38.833), No. 3 on the rings (38.530), No. 1 on the horse (38.650), No. 4 on the vault (38.300), No. 5 on the parallel bars (38.200) and No. 6 on the floor (38.267)...Oleg Kosyak was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation gymnast of the week for his performance at the Gold's Challenge. He took home the all-around title with a 58.280 total which is the best in the NCAA this season and toppled Cals all-time record of 58.200.

CAL WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE THIS WEEK: The Bears will travel to Palo Alto for its final regular season meet, a triad with No.18 Stanford and No. 21 Army, this Friday, March 20. Cal is looking to defeat Stanford for the seventh time this year and complete its first undefeated regular season since 1972.

BEARS KEEP ON WINNING: Cal tallied 229.450 points to breeze by No. 11 Temple (225.500), No. 12 Massachusetts (220.550) and No. 18 Stanford (201.700) in their final home meet of the season last Friday. The Bears swept the top three places on the parallel bars, the horizontal bar and the pommel horse and Oleg Kosyak took home the all-around title with a 58.050 total. On Sunday, the Bears defeated No. 7 Oklahoma (226.600) and Arizona State (214.100) with a score of 230.700, their second best total of the season. Kosyak dominated the competition, winning the floor (9.750), vault (9.850) and p-bar (9.900) events en route to a58.250 total and his third consecutive all-around title 58.250 points. His all-around score is the second best in Cal history to the 58.280 he recorded two weeks ago.

NOTES ON THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS: No.18 Stanford will be looking to redeem themselves after posting their worst score of the season in last week's meet at Cal. Craig Nebit injured his ankle during his floor performance and was unable to continue and Ricardo Andrade and Gage Edelman took some serious tumbles off the h-bar and p-bars, respectively, to add to the Cardinal's woes....Cardinal Jason Katsampes has been a solid performer this season and is ranked No. 17 in the national all-around rankings...No. 21 Army recorded its best meet score of the season, 216.250, at Santa Barbara last week. The Cadets are ranked eighteenth in the national team rankings on both the horse and the floor...Army is led by sophomore Jason Delmarty, who is nationally ranked 36th in the all-around.

BEARS IN THE RANKINGS: Evgenii Zherebchevskiy is ranked No. 5 in the all-around rankings with a 57.342 average, No. 3 (9.717) on the floor, No. 5 on the rings (9.792), No. 6 on the h-bar (9.783) and No. 7 on the p-bars (9.733)...Oleg Kosyak is ranked No. 4 on the h-bar (9.783) and 18th on the p-bars (9.583)...Andrew Hampy is 10th on the vault (9.633)...Josh Brickelbaw is ranked second on the horse (9.815)...Jeff Stein and Alex Chansky are tied at No. 17 (9.633) on the h-bar.
