WALNUT CREEK - California sophomore Jennifer Joyce has been named Pac-10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at last weekend's Brutus Hamilton Memorial Invitational.

Joyce established a personal record, an Edwards Stadium record and NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a distance of 199-0 to win the hammer throw. The native of Victoria, B.C., Canada, owns the school record in the hammer and ranks second overall in the conference.

She also finished second in the discus with a mark of 157-1.
