Cal Women Tie for 19th, Men Tie for 21st at NCAA Track and Field Championships

DURHAM, N.C. - The California men's and women's track and field teams had strong showings at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 31-June 3, at Wallace Wade Stadium. The Bear women tied for 19th with Arizona and Georgia with 12 points, while the Bear men tied for 21st with Colorado State with 10 points.

This marked the best finish for the Cal women since they finished 11th in 1990 and the best finish for the Cal men since they finished 14th in 1993.

The Stanford men won the men's team title with 72 points, while Arkansas finished second with 59 points and saw its string of eight-consecutive titles snapped. LSU claimed the women's crown with 58 points over USC's 54.
