The 2001 Cal recipients are Adrian Barnes (Men's Tennis), Wayne Boddy (Men's Track and Field), Beth Irwin (Women's Water Polo) and Anita Kurimay (Women's Tennis).
Barns finished the 2001 season with a 6-7 dual record from the No. 2 and 3 positions and 14-9 in all matches. The senior from Cambridge, England, also earned the Newfeld Scholar Athlete Award.
Boddy, a senior from Salinas, CA, has Cal's top mark 2001 in the 400M (21.78).
Irwin finished her career fourth on the Cal all-time scoring list with 128 goals. The senior from Menlo Park, CA, also earned All-MPSF honorable mention honors.
Kurimay earned second team All-Pac-10 honors in 2001. The senior from Budapest, Hungary, finished the year 11-5 in dual matches and 11-6 overall.
To be eligible for a Pac-10 postgraduate scholarship a student athlete must have an overall grade-point average of 3.00 or its equivalent, be in his or her final season of intercollegiate athletics eligibility, have performed with distinction as a member of the varsity team, intend to continue academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree as a full-time graduate student, and have behaved both on and off the field in a manner that has brought credit to the student-athlete, the institution and intercollegiate athletics.
