California Draws New Mexico in Round of 16

BERKELEY - The field is set for Pools A and B of the national collegiate playoffs, hosted by California at Witter Rugby Field April 20-22. Action begins Friday at noon with Minnesota against Cal Poly, while the Golden Bears commence their postseason journey at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, against New Mexico.

If Cal, the No. 1 seed, beats the Lobos on Saturday, the Bears will play the winner of Harvard vs. San Diego State on Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. in their bid to win Pool A and earn a semifinal berth at the national championships, hosted by Stanford May 4-5.

Pool A features Cal, New Mexico, Harvard and San Diego State, while Pool B includes Brigham Young, Wyoming, Minnesota and Cal Poly (see match schedule below). The two pool winners who emerge from Berkeley with join the Pool C and D winners, competing the same weekend at Penn State, to comprise the four national semifinalists.
