California field hockey head coach Shellie Onstead is currently continuing her international coaching experience as an assistant coach with the U.S. Senior National Team at the Champions Challenge Tournament which takes place from June 18-26 in Dublin, Ireland.
Pool play for the tournament ended on June 21 with the Americans finishing 0-2-1. They lost their first two matches against Japan and Scotland before tying South Africa, 5-5.
The U.S. will square off against host-Ireland in the quarterfinals on Thursday, June 23.
Former assistant coach Lauren Crandall is participating for the Americans.
Most recently prior to this tournament, Onstead recently coached the California regional high performance team at the Women's Senior National Championship last month.
