AS A JUNIOR (1999): Had 24 appearances in relief, going 1-1 with a team-leading three saves and a 3.29 ERA...picked up the victory in the Bears 11-9 upset win versus then No. 4 ranked Stanford Apr. 23 at Cal, coming in in the seventh inning and pitching 2.3 innings with two hits, one run, a walk and a strikeout...earned saves Apr. 1 (retired one batter) and Apr. 2 (1.0 inning) versus UCLA and May 2 versus Arizona (1.7 innings, three hits, no runs)...was honorable mention All-Pac-10...

AS A SOPHOMORE (1998): Went 2-3 with a 6.33 ERA in 33 appearances (fifth-highest single-season appearances in Cal baseball history)...had a team-leading five pickoffs...earned the win in the 9-7, 12-inning victory at Pepperdine Feb. 8 (final 3.3 innings, no hits, no runs, no walks)...picked up the win in the Bears 11-5 victory over Rutgers Mar. 8 (4.3 innings, four hits, one run, two walks, one strikeout) at the Hormel Foods Classic in Minneapolis, MN... suffered his first collegiate loss Mar. 21 at ASU (3.3 innings, four hits, one earned run, three walks, two strikeouts)...pitched well Mar. 27 versus USC (3.7 innings, three hits, one run, no walks, career-high three strikouts)...

AS A FRESHMAN (1997): Had an excellent freshman campaign, going 2-0 with three saves and a team-leading 3.38 ERA...was impressive against Pac-10 Southern Division competition, giving up only five earned runs with 14 strikeouts in 29.3 innings for a 1.53 league ERA...was fourth in the league in appearances with 33...picked up two wins in the last five games of the season, defeating UCLA May 4 (2.3 innings, one hit, one strikeout) and Clemson May 11 (5.3 innings, 10 hits, four runs, two walks, one strikeout)...also picked up his third save of the season May 9 at Clemson, pitching 2.0 innings with three hits, one run and three strikeouts...

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Crespi High School had four saves and a 2.14 ERA as a sophomore, one save and 1.61 ERA as a junior and one save and a 2.00 ERA as a senior...competed in the Area Code Games in the summer of 1996 at Long Beach State's Blair Field...pitched for the Kelowna Grizzles of the Alaskan League in the summer of 1997, going 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA and had 15 strikeouts in 22.3 innings...was one of 66 players invited to the USA Baseball National Trials Nov. 5-9, 1997 in Tucson, AZ, along with Cal teammate Xavier Nady...performed well at USA Baseball Trials, appearing in three ballgames, going 2-0 with a save in 3.7 innings of action...played for the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 1998, going 0-1 with a 5.17 ERA...had a 3.5 high school GPA...recruited by Stanford, Pepperdine, Auburn and Arizona before selecting Cal...majoring in political science...parents are Bob and Rosalie Cuccias...born March 31, 1978 in Los Angeles, CA.
