A right-handed pitcher who continues to improve and will be looked upon to provide depth out of the bullpen...HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At University High School was a two-time all-city and All-Big West Tourney selection…as a senior, went 8-2 with a 2.00 ERA and had 85 strikeouts and 17 walks in 68.0 innings…also had a career batting average of .389 with nine home runs and 97 RBI…helped lead his team to two Pacific Coast League titles and set the school record for single-season wins with 21 in 1997…had a 3.87 high school GPA…in the summer of 1998 pitched for the Orange County Barracudas of the Pacific Collegiate League, going 4-1 with a 3.27 ERA, and had 40 strikeouts and 12 walks in 44.0 innings...played for the Oakland Expos this past summer…considered Michigan, North Carolina and Cornell before selecting Cal...majoring in history and mass communications...parents are Dan and Jeanne Stokols...born June 13, 1979 in Orange, CA.
