HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Campolindo High School in Moraga earned first team all-league as a junior and senior...in 1997 helped lead his team to the Tri County Athletic League title and a 22-6 record...finished 7-2 with a 0.91 ERA as a junior and 11-1 with a 2.14 ERA as a senior…played for the Oakland Expos this past summer with Cal teammates Brent Cook, Tommy Callen and Nick Medrano...considered Saint Mary's and Dartmouth before selecting Cal...majoring in conservation and resource studies...is the great grandson of Robert and Ida Sproul, after whom Sproul Plaza on the Cal campus is named...grandparents and parents also attended Cal...grandfather, John, played basketball and father, Malcolm, competed in track and field for the Bears...parents are Malcolm and Casey Sproul...born March 2, 1979 in Moraga, CA.
