The following list of player earned automatic entry on Cal's All-Century team based on the their accomplishments as Golden Bears (Pac-10 Player of the Year, or first, second or third-team All-American). The remaining member of the 30-player squad will be determined by a fan vote.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim (1996) - named Pac-10 Player of the Year and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year ... also the National Freshman of the Year ... led the Pac-10 in scoring with 21.1 ppg ... scored 590 points in 1996 - a Cal freshman record ... also had 52 steals during his one collegiate year ... member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic team that captured a gold medal.

Ryan Anderson (2007-08) - first-team All-Pac-10 as a sophomore in 2008 when he led the Pac-10 in scoring (21.1 ppg) ... named a second-team All-American in 2008 ... first Cal sophomore to score 1,000 points ... his 1,236 points rate 16th on the Cal list ... the only player to score 600 points and grab 300 rebounds in one season in Cal history ... Pac-10 All-Freshman in 2007.

Verne Corbin (1927-29) - a first-team All-American and all-conference pick in 1929 ... also chosen first-team All-Southern Division in 1927 and 1929 ... inducted into the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992 ... played center and led Cal to three conference titles.

Russ Critchfiled (1966-68) - a three-time team MVP who earned first-team All-America honors as a senior in 1968 ... also a second-team All-American in 1967 ... one of the top guards in Cal history ... averaged 19.4 ppg for his career and scored 1,437 points ... twice scored 36 points in a game ... served as an assistant coach at Cal from 1977-85 ... a member of both the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame and Pac-10 Hall of Honor.

George Dixon (1926-27) - Cal's first All-American, earning first-team honors in 1926 and '27 ... the Bears finished undefeated both years ... also twice named first-team all-conference ... voted the best guard on the West Coast ... elected to the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986 ... as a rugby player, won an Olympic gold medal in 1924.

Hal Eifert (1932-34) - played in the first game at Harmon Gym ... led Cal in scoring in 1934 with a then-school-record 252 points... a 1934 All-American when he was also voted first-team all-conference and first-team All-Southern Division ... inducted into the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.

Larry Friend (1955-57) - ranks 29th on Cal's career scoring list with 1,061 points ... a first-team All-American in 1957 when he was also team MVP ... scoring average of 14.9 ppg is 13th best at the school ... averaged 18. ppg as a senior in 1957 ... a three-year starter at forward ... scored 25 points vs. BYU in the 1957 NCAA Tournament ... member of the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame.

Ed Gray (1996-97) - named Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1997 when he paced the conference with a school-record 24.8 ppg ... scored 1,082 points in his two-year career ... set a Cal mark with 48 points at Washington State on Feb. 22, 1997 ... also owns the school record with six 30-point games in one season (1997) ... named Cal's MVP in 1997 ... the 1996 Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year.

Darrall Imhoff (1958-60) - starting center on Cal's 1959 and 1960 Final Four teams ... named a second-team All-American as a junior and first-team All-American as a senior ... also twice chosen to the All-Final Four team ... a two-time first-team all-conference pick ... won a gold medal as a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic team ... named Cal's MVP in 1960 ... inducted into the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988 and into the Pac-10 Hall of Honor in 2005 ... chosen with the third overall pick of the 1960 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks.

Jason Kidd (1993-94) - the 1993 Pac-10 and National Freshman of the Year ... voted Pac-10 Player of the Year as a sophomore ... a two-time team co-MVP ... led the country with 110 steals as a freshman and paced the nation with 272 assists his sophomore year ... recorded four triple-doubles ... had a school-record 18 assists vs. Stanford in 1994 and set a Cal mark with 8 steals vs. Washington in '93 ... owns the Cal career record with 204 steals ... inducted into the Pac-10 Hall of Honor in 2004 ... the No. 2 overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft ... a two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Joe Kintana (1931-32) - earned first-team All-America honors in 1932 when he averaged a team-high 7.3 ppg ... also chosen first-team all-conference ... a two-time first-team All-Southern Division selection ... the first player on the West Coast to use a one-handed shot to any extent.

Sean Lampley (1998-01) - Cal's all-time leading scorer with 1,776 points ... the 2001 Pac-10 Player of the Year ... a two-time All-Pac-10 selection ... voted MVP of the 1999 NIT when he led Cal to the title ... also twice named team MVP ... ranks fourth in career rebounds with 884 ... had 30 double-doubles over his career ... averaged 19.5 ppg and 7.2 rpg as a senior when he led the Pac-10 in scoring.

Bob Matheny (1950-54) - a third-team All-American in 1954 ... chosen first-team All-Southern Division twice ... Cal's Most Inspirational Player in 1950 and '53 ... served as team captain as a senior when he averaged 13.4 ppg.

Bob McKeen (1952-55) - set Cal's all-time scoring mark with 1,654 points, which stood until 1987 ... still the Bears' career rebounding leader with 1,019 ... scored at least 30 points five times, including 40 vs. Utah in 1954 ... had a pair of 20-rebound performances ... enshrined in the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in 1989 ... a four-year starter at center ... a second-team All-American in 1953 and a third-team pick in 1955 ... also four-time first-team All-Southern Division.

Mark McNamara (1981-82) - averaged 19.6 ppg and 11.6 rpg in his two-year career after transferring from Santa Clara ... first player to score 1,000 points in his first two seasons with the Bears, finishing with 1,041 points ... a 1982 first-team All-Pac-10 choice who was a two-time team MVP ... set a school record by scoring at least 30 points six times ... shot 66.2% from the field for his career ... averaged 22.0 ppg in 1982, which was a school record at the time ... also had four 20-rebound games.

Lamond Murray (1992-94) - scored 28 points in Cal's 1993 NCAA Tournament win over Duke, helping the Bears to the Sweet 16 and the most scored by a Cal player in an NCAA game ... a two-time All-Pac-10 choice and voted a third-team All-American in 1994 ... also a member of the 1992 Pac-10 All-Freshman team ... a two-time team co-MVP ... set a school record with 1,688 points (since broken) ... averaged 24.3 ppg in 1994 to lead the Pac-10.

Leon Powe (2004-06) - a two-time All-Pac-10 choice who was a second-team All-American in 2006 ... named MVP of the 2006 Pac-10 Tournament when he led Cal to the final, which included a 41-point game in the semifinals vs. Oregon ... the 2004 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year ... a two-time team MVP ... averaged 20.5 ppg and 10.1 rpg as a sophomore in '06 ... set a school record with 194 free throws made in 2006 ... career rebounding average (9.8 rpg) is third best ever at Cal.

Earl Shultz (1959-61) - a third-team All-American in 1961 and an honorable mention pick in 1960 ... guard on two Final Four teams ... named first-team all-conference in 1960 ... averaged 9.9 ppg as a senior.

Andy Wolfe (1946-48) - led Cal to the 1946 Final Four ... the first Cal player to score 1,000 points in a career (1,112) ... Cal's Most Inspirational Player as a senior ... inducted into the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987 ... an All-American as a senior ... named All-PCC Southern Division three times.
