CALIFORNIA - Lopez begins her senior year at Cal as a returning All-American in the pole vault...has reestablished the school record in the pole vault numerous times since arriving in Berkeley...as a JUNIOR in 2000, set the school record of 13-1.5 with her eighth-place finish in the pole at the NCAA Championship... finished fifth in the pole vault at Pac-10s with a clearance of 12-7.25...competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the pole vault during the summer of 2000...as a SOPHOMORE in 1999, set the then-pole vault record of 11-11.25 at the Big Meet, finishing second...placed 12th (10-11.75) at the Pac-10 Championship...as a FRESHMAN in 1998, placed eighth (10-9.75) in the pole vault at the Pac-10 meet...recorded Cal's then-school record vault of 11-5.75 at the Big Meet.
HIGH SCHOOL - Attended Newark Memorial HS...set a PR of 12-0 in the pole vault...finished second in the pole vault at the 1997 state championship...competed in junior nationals after her senior year...voted track and field team MVP as a junior and senior.
