Cal Can't Quite Keep up With Cardinal
BERKELEY, Calif. -- In a tight gymnastics meet, the Lady
Golden Bears gymnastics team fell just short, losing to the Stanford
Cardinal, 194.15-192.85.
In the all-around competition, the Cardinal lay claim to the top three
spots, but Cal's Leila Khoury placed fourth with a 38.85 mark. She
finished third in the floor exercise, and fourth in the vault and
unparallel bars.
Cal's lone victory of the four events came in the floor exercise, where Mindy Ornellas grabbed a tie for first with a sparkling 9.90 mark. With Khoury's third, and Emily Bails' fourth-place finish, Cal was victorious.
The Golden Bears return to the mats next Friday night when they travel to Arizona State to take on the Sun Devils.
