HIGH SCHOOL: At Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. was named All-American by Student Sports magazine as a senior...helped lead Sidwell to three straight league titles and was named first team All-Met by the Washington Post three straight years...also had been a member of the USA Junior National Team since 1996...was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball, basketball and track at Sidwell and was the first student to win 12 varsity letters at the school.
PERSONAL: Candace McNamee was born June 13, 1980 in Washington, D.C...parents are George and Evelyn McNamee...has two older brothers and an older sister, Paula, who was a volleyball and basketball player at Stanford and a member of the USA National Volleyball Team...selected Cal over Hawaii, Michigan State, Penn State, Long Beach State and UCLA...is majoring in American studies.
