Cal's Hunter Selected to All-MPSF First Team
California senior Adam Hunter (Bloomfield Hills, MI) was selected to the 1997 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation mens soccer first team, it was announced Tuesday, November 25.
Hunter, who earned All-MPSF first team honors a year ago as a junior, started all 18 games for the Golden Bears this season. A former Mr. Michigan Soccer, he finished as the teams leading scorer for the second consecutive year with 21 points on nine goals and three assists.
The Bears finished the season 11-6-1, 2-2 (third place) in the MPSF Mountain Division.
With his outstanding play this fall, Hunter moved up into the Cal record books in two categories. His 26 career goals ranks third on the charts, while his 16 career assists places fifth.
Six other Cal players received conference honors as sophomore Tim Castillo (East Point, MI), sophomore Derrick Dyslin (La Caada), junior Brandon Moggio (Northville, MI), sophomore John Macdonald (Granada Hills), sophomore Chris Sawicki (Northridge) and freshman Kendall Simmonds (Simi Valley) were selected to the All-MPSF honorable mention team.
