Sorry for the delay. The letter of intent for Aaron Tipoti came in shortly after 1 p.m. However, Coach Tedford was kicking off his Signing Day Press Conference at 2 p.m., so we had to get everything ready to go for that. 11:41 a.m.
The signees that have arrived so far today will join two student-athletes who graduated high school early to enroll at Cal in January. Covaughn Deboskie is a SuperPrep All-America running back from Arizona. He rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 42 touchdowns in his final two seasons at Hamilton High School. Defensive tackle Kendrick Payne joined the program from Houston and Klein Forest High School - a teammate of fellow signee Josh Hill. The Klein Forest duo is Cal's first Houston signees during Tedford's tenure at Cal.
10:20 a.m.
The paperwork is official on linebacker Mychal Kendricks. A Fresno product from Herbert Hoover, Kendricks is listed as the No. 28 weakside linebacker recruit in the country by Scout.com. He piled up 175 tackles during his senior season at Hoover HS.
8:37 a.m.
Another Arizona signee has been added to the class as cornerback Marc Anthony has signed from Chandler, Ariz., and Chandler High School. Rated No. 40 as a cornerback by Scout.com, Anthony had 77 tackles and four interceptions as a senior.
8:28 a.m.
Two more receivers are in. With the addition of Jarrett Sparks and Charles Satchell, Cal now has five receivers in this class. The Golden Bear receiving corps is a top-10-rated group by Rivals.com. Sparks will be Cal's biggest receiver on the roster next year at 6-3, 210, while Satchell also brings decent size. Sparks, from Merced, is the No. 41-rated receiver prospect in the country, while Satchell, from Milipitas, is rated No. 61.
8:05 a.m.
It looks like we're catching up here. We have Trevor Guyton's video updated. Guyton is from Redmond, Wash. He had 70 tackles last year and is listed as the 18th-best defensive tackle recruit in the country.
7:54 a.m.
Here's a guy people will remember reading about In Sports Illustrated. Marvin Jones is official. A big receiver from Southern California, Jones hauled in 81 receptions for a league-best 1,040 yards. Another SuperPrep All-American, Jones' recruiting visit to Cal was documented in SI.
7:48 a.m.
Scrambling to catch up here! So far, so good for the Bears. Just an update, we'll have Trevor Guyton's video up and running shortly. It looks like we have another one in...Anthony Miller is in. Another big tight end for the Bears, coupled with Ladner, these guys are the No. 5 rated tight-end class in the country. Miller is from San Jose and Archbishop Mitty.
7:42 a.m.
Big safety Chris Little is official. An Oakland product, Little had 83 tackles as a senior and was named to the Contra Costa Times' Cream of the Crop list for 2008.
7:39 a.m.
Another receiver has checked in. Verran Tucker has officially signed with the Golden Bears. Tucker is another juco transfer, this one from El Caimono Community College where he was an all-conference selection and one of the top-rated junior-college transfers in the country.
7:25 a.m.
Cal has added Joseph Washington and Matt Rios. Washington, known as L.J., led the Central Section with 1,144 receiving yards in 2007 at Stockton's Stagg High School. Rios gives the Golden Bears their second long snapper from North Canyon High in Phoenix, following in the footsteps of current long snapper Nick Sundberg.
7:17 a.m.
Trevor Guyton, a Pacific Northwest defensive tackle, is in. Guyton's another SuperPrep All-American.
7:16 a.m.
Three more letters of intent have arrived as the fax machine is working now. Cal has added quarterback Beau Sweeney from Fresno, another o-lineman, Dominic Galas from Modesto, and juco transfer Kamaron Yancy from Pierce Junior College.
7:11 p.m.
Coach Jim Michalczik has another big offensive lineman as Tyler Rigsbee from Chico, Calif., has been cleared by the compliance staff. Rigsbee is a SuperPrep Magazine All-America choice and rated as high as No. 21 in the nation among offensive tackles.
7:05 a.m.
Our first Bay Area signee is in as J.P. Hurrell has faxed in his letter of intent. Hurrell is a top-50 rated linebacker from Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo. He was the Western Catholic League Linebacker of the Year last year.
6:56 a.m.
Hoping to see some more letters as we're coming up on 7 a.m. Pacific. Recruits can't send their letters of intent in until 7 a.m. local time, so we'll be looking for some west coast kids next.
5:40 a.m.
Welcome to Cal's Football Signing Day Central! The Bear coaching staff arrived in the Memorial Stadium offices by about 4 a.m. for some breakfast and
hoping to see some early letters. The first arrival via the fax machine was Spencer Ladner from Kansas City - Ladner is a big tight end who was a SuperPrep All-American selection. The 6-6, 232-pounder is rated as the No. 15 tight end in the country and the No. 4 prospect in the state of Missouri. Shortly after Ladner's letter of intent arrived, defensive back Josh Hill declard his intent. Hill is an athletic six-footer from Houston and Klein Forest High School.

of Intent Signing Day by visiting www.CalBears.com on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
CalBears.com will provide live updates as letters are faxed and approved by
the Golden Bear administration.
The first Wednesday in February is the first day of the signing period for
football players. High school athletes can fax their official intent to
attend a certain school beginning that day. Updates are expected on
CalBears.com shortly after 6 a.m. (Pacific). Along with the news of the
official signing, biographical information and video highlights of the
signees is expected to be available. So be sure to visit www.CalBears.com
on Wednesday morning.
The Golden Bears posted their sixth straight winning season in 2007,
capping the year with a come-from-behind 42-36 triumph over Air Force in
the Bell Helicopters Armed Forces Bowl. The bowl victory was the fourth for
Tedford - no other Cal coach has won more than two. It is the first time in
program history that Cal has advanced to five straight bowl games and the
first time in over 50 years that the Bears have posted six straight winning
seasons.
