1998: sat out the season with a hip injury.

1997: earned a letter as a member of Cal's special teams.

1995-96: served on Cal's scout teams, redshirting in 1995 and being a squad member in '96.

High School/Personal: Came to Cal in 1995 on scholarship after a lettering in football just one season at Arcata HS...had 58 catches for 1,039 yards (17.9 average) and eight touchdowns in just nine games as a senior ... earned first team all-state honors for medium sized schools as a senior...best game was a 13-catch, 213-yard, 2-TD performance vs. Fortuna HS...also was a fine prep sprinter who won the county 100- and 200-meter titles...arrived at Cal with a 3.95 GPA and a 1360 SAT...was a member of the Cal-Hi Sports Western States All-Academic team...a longtime Cal fan who used to drive 300 miles each way with his family to watch Golden Bear games as a youth...parents are Ken (played college football at UC Riverside in 1969, but transferred and received bachelor's and master's degrees from Cal) and Margaret Stumpf, and their first date was at a Cal football game in September of 1968 when the Bears beat Colorado 10-0...grandfather worked at Cal from 1953-70 and grandmother graduated from Cal in 1947 and worked at the University from 1961-83...mass communications major...born Dec. 8, 1976 in Arcata, CA.
