1999: Was developing into a reliable, five-event gymnast before breaking a finger in practice prior to Cal's meet vs. Illinois ... registered a career-high 9.800 on the p-horse at the UCSB Invitational, Cal's top score on that event in '99 ... opened the season with an h-bar victory (9.650) vs. Stanford ... finished first on horse (9.550) and second on vault (9.150) at the Cardinal Open ... took top honors on horse (9.650) and h-bar (9.750) the following week at UCSB.
1998: Placed third in the NCAA horizontal bar individual final with a score of 9.7625 to earn All-America honors ... made his collegiate debut at the UCLA Invitational ... in just his second meet, tied for first on the h-bar and tied for second on the p-horse with a pair of 9.800s ... placed in the top three in at least one event in every meet ... competed throughout the postseason on h-bar and posted a 9.700 in the NCAA team final.
