2011: Was a regular competitor on both the rings and vault...finished fourth on the vault with a career-best 16.250 at the NCAA Team Qualifiers...earned a season-high 14.350 on the rings in the MPSF Championships...competed on the floor only once, earning a 13.950 in a meet against Iowa.

2010: As a true freshman, competed on vault in every meet for the Bears...finished eleventh at the NCAA Team Championships on vault with a season-high score of 15.850...finished sixth on vault in the Pacific Coast Classic with a 15.800.

Personal: Named Academic All-American from 2006-09...was a member of his high school's German Club, CSF and Key Club...at the 2009 state competition, he was the silver medalist in the all-around, on floor and parallel bars...NorCal State All-Star team member from 2007-09...made the Regional Select team in 2008...twin brother Christian is his teammate and a cousin is also a Cal freshman...two uncles and his father attended Cal...plans on majoring in molecular and cell biology or integrative biology...parents are Emelyn and Felipe Monteclaro.
