Women's Swimming Dominates at Washington Quadrangular

SEATTLE -- The University of California women's swim team is in first place at the Washington Individual Quadrangular. The Bears dominated Husky pool through the first day of competition, winning seven of the nine races.

Haley Cope won the 200m backstroke with a time of 2:05.25, Elli Overton cruised in the 200m Breaststroke, winning with a time of 2:16.53. (The second place finisher was more than seven seconds behind.) Cooe, Anya Kolbisen, Nicole Omphroy and Adrienne Mattos joined forced to win the 200m freeestyle relay, with a time of 1:37.58.

Omphrey and Mattos finished 1st and 2nd, resectively, in 100m freestyle. Omphrey out swam her teammate by less than half a second (52.79 to 52.95).
