1997 Pac-10 All-Academic
A senior freestyler/backstroker from Piedmont, CA...as a junior (1997) was
one of the Bears team leaders and top competitors...competed in the 50
free, 100 free and 100 back at the Pac-10 Championship...was a member of
the 1997 Pac-10 All-Academic team...this past summer competed at the USS
Summer Senior Nationals in Nashville, TN...as a sophomore (1996) had Cal's
third-best time in the 50 free...was a mainstay on the Bears sprint relay
corps, swimming lead-off on the team's top 200 free relay...was named
honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic...in the summer of 1996 swam at the
USS Summer Senior Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale, FL...as a freshman (1995)
had Cal's top time in the 100 free (52.25) and second-best time in the 50
free (23.96)...was a member of the Bears top 200 (1:35.61) and 400 relay
(3:30.06) teams...along with Erin Jesfjeld, was named Most Improved
Swimmer...in the summer of 1995 competed in her first U.S. Nationals meet,
swimming a 27.00 (a drop of 1.1 seconds) in the 50 free (long course
meters)...at Piedmont High School was team captain as a junior and senior
and holds school records in the 50 and 100 free...played two years of
basketball and was the MVP of the ski team...had a 3.7 high school
GPA...competed this past summer at the USS Summer Senior Nationals in
Nashville, TN...majoring in mass communications...parents, who both
attended Cal, are John and Barbara Reding of Piedmont, CA...born 9/23/75 in
Berkeley, CA.
