Do you see yourself moving on to the WNBA in the future?

"I've just started at Cal. I never thought I would move on from Santa Clara. For me, my focus is Cal. I want to be at Cal and to develop the program to be very, very good. I feel like this is the coaching job I want to end my career in."

Julie Audino (Mount Prospect, IL)
Do you give walk-on's a chance to earn a spot on your roster?

"I feel there are a couple of things that are really important for walk-ons. We have a couple of walk-ons who have meant a great deal to this team. One, a walk-on has to earn her spot on the team, and a walk-on needs to be someone I feel can help us in the future. A walk-on needs to be someone who always maintains a positive attitude, and if not, they can't be a member of the team. The other thing is that they need to go hard in practice consistently and meet the expectations we would have for any other player on the team."

Nikki Dulin (Santa Barbara, CA)
I was wondering how open you were to the idea of a walk-on who played basketball all through high school but decided to run track in college? What are the likely chances of an athlete like myself being able to walk on and play basketball for your team?

"If it's a walk-on, I think it's going to be very difficult for them to play basketball and track. If it's a player who is highly recruited and they're an outstanding basketball player and have been recruited by a lot of different people, sometimes you would allow them to do a second sport because their talents are so beneficial in two areas. For a walk-on to do that is very difficult because I feel they need to put in the time in the off-season. It would depend on the walk-on and what they would have to offer to us and the track team."
