Jen Manning, a standout midfielder and attacker from Boston University, returns to California this year for her second season as an assistant coach with the Bears.

A clinical exercise physiology major, Manning helped take a fledgling Boston University team with only three wins in her freshman year to a top-10 ranking and the NCAA Tournament by her senior year. An All-American candidate in her 2000 senior year campaign with the Terriers, Manning compiled a school record 66 assists while scoring 12 goals. Part of BU's first recruited class, Manning's role with the team evolved from a principle attacker in her first two seasons to a midfield leadership position as an upperclassman.

"Jen Manning brings a much needed expertise on offense to the team," said Malko. "In addition, her experience at BU going from a new program to a Top-10 team adds an additional dimension to Cal's growth as a team."
