A member of the strong Bears pitching staff … not only pitches, but also adds experience to the infield in a back-up role … struggled at the plate last season, but has worked in the offseason and will compete to be the DP.
As a Freshman: Appeared in 19 games in the circle, starting 12 of them … also played first base and DP … finished the season with a 9-0 record and a 1.62 ERA … combined with Nicole DiSalvio on a no-hitter against Cal Poly, pitching 2.1 innings of relief in a 6-0 victory … her first win was a three-hit, eight-strikeout shutout over Florida A&M … struck out a season-high nine batters in a 7-1 win over Portland State ... also struck out eight in games against New Mexico State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi … tossed 3.1 innings without allowing an earned run against No. 1 Washington … had a better than 4-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio … had a .188 batting average (6-for-32), with a home run, two doubles, five RBI and six runs scored … went 3-for-4 against Florida A&M … also went 2-for-3 with a game-winning home run in the bottom of the seventh inning against Arizona State, lifting Cal to a 1-0 victory.
High School: Recorded more than 800 strikeouts in her four seasons at North Salinas HS … once had 49 strikeouts in a 34-inning game … earned all-state and All-American honors … named the Salinas Californian's Female Athlete of the Year three times … a four-time team MVP … in addition to softball, voted team MVP in both volleyball and basketball.
