Started most of the last three seasons in center field and should fill that role again this year … looks to get back to her offensive form from 1998 and 1999 when she batted .290 and .294, respectively … a good baserunner and has the speed to cover a lot of ground in the field. As a Junior: Led all Cal outfielders with 11 assists from her center field spot … had a strong UNLV Softball Classic by going 6-for-16 (.375) with four runs scored … went 2-for-5 with two runs, a home run and 3 RBI in a 7-4 victory over New Mexico State … batted 3-for-6 in a doubleheader sweep of Cal Poly … returned to the lineup at the NCAA regional after being sidelined since April 29 with a hip injury … drove in Cal's first run in a 2-0 win over Florida ... when healthy, was perhaps Cal's fastest player and tied for the team lead with five stolen bases As a Sophomore: Phillips started 68 games in center field for Cal and hit .294 … paced the Bears in both triples (5) and home runs (7) … her home run total tied for the third best in school history at the time … voted to the all-tournament team at the NCAA regional after batting .421 (8-19) with a homer and four runs scored … her home run, a solo shot, provided the only run in a 1-0 victory over Massachusetts … also socked a solo homer at Oregon State May 8 in a 1-0 Cal victory … had another home run, along with a double and 2 RBI, in a 10-6 win at Oregon … in Cal's doubleheader at Arizona April 16, went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI to help the Bears split with the Wildcats … in February, hit home runs in back-to-back games against Loyola Marymount and UNLV. As a Freshman: Batted a solid .290 during her freshman year … ranked second on the team with 30 runs scored and paced the squad with 15 sacrifice bunts … stole a team-high eight bases (11 attempts) … batted in the second spot in the order most of the year … had three hits in a game four times, including a 3-for-4 performance vs. Florida and a 3-for-4 outing against Oregon … stole three bases in one game at San Jose State.
