Pauline Duenas, who wrapped up her Cal softball career last year as the Bears' left fielder and key utility player, comes back as a student assistant under Diane Ninemire. Duenas started all 72 games last season, averaging .232 at the plate, while collecting 22 RBI's. She is among the top 10 all-time in most games played with 244, and is third all-time in sacrifice hits with 56. A native of Chula Vista, Calif. and Hilltop High School, Duenas looks to finish up her undergraduate degree this spring as she completes her American studies thesis requirement.
