As a Junior: An honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection, Harper started in every game for Cal in 2001 … tied for second on the team in home runs with four … also had second most RBI with 33 … had two or more hits in 15 games and three hits six times throughout the year, while also driving in two or more runs in seven different games … had a seven-game hitting streak April 1-14 … went 4-for-7 in a two-game series against Oregon, scoring three runs and driving in a pair Apr. 7-8 … hit the front end of back-to-back homers with teammate Veronica Nelson at Stanford Apr. 13 … has committed just seven errors, with only two coming in the last 27 games … knocked in Cal's first run in the NCAA regional championship game vs. Florida State.
As a Sophomore: Started and played in all 74 games … Earned second team All-Pac-10 honors for the second straight year … also earned second team all-region honors and selected to the Troy Cox Classic All-Tournament team (Las Cruces, NM) after going 10-for-17 with four runs scored, six RBI, two home runs and two doubles in the tournament … had an eight-game hitting streak from Feb. 19-26 (14-for-28) … her 17 doubles tie her with former teammate Lisa Iancin for the Cal season record … in addition, her 70 hits on the year rank fifth and 38 RBI tied her for fifth on Cal's season list … had 17 multi-hit games and four three-hit games … broke the Cal at-bats record with 230 last season … had eight games with at least two RBI … had four RBI and batted 5-for-6 in a doubleheader sweep of Cal Poly… her 169 assists broke former SS Katie May's school season record of 166 set in 1998.
As a Freshman: Harper was the lone Cal freshman to crack the starting lineup in the field … earned second team All-Pac-10 and second team all-region honors … a clutch performer, she batted .333 with runners in scoring position and .352 with two outs … her two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning at Oregon State provided the difference in an 8-6 victory, while she had a two-run double in the top of the seventh inning in a 3-0 victory at Oregon … had two hits in the same inning during an eight-run Cal outburst in the second inning at Sacramento State … got the year off to a strong start when she went 6-for-9 with five runs and 5 RBI in her first four games … was 2-for-2 with a homer and 2 RBI in a 7-6 victory at Arizona State … also had a two-run home run in a 5-1 victory over Arizona May 1 … named to the all-tournament team at the NCAA regional after hitting .389 (7-18) with two doubles.
High School: Harper was a four-time all-area shortstop at Lincoln HS … named first team all-state as a senior … also voted first team all-league four times and led her team to four league titles … Lincoln finished second in the CIF San Juaquin Section in 1998 … played basketball for three years, helping her team to the '98 league title … named Lincoln's Scholar Athlete of the Year as a freshman.
