BERKELEY – Cal women’s soccer netted another Golden State soccer product to its incoming freshman class with the addition of Los Gatos goalkeeper Brooke Lisowski. The Archbishop Mitty star has accepted an offer of admission to join the Golden Bears in 2015-16, head coach Neil McGuire announced Monday.
"Brooke is a mature young lady who already exhibits many of the great traits we enjoy from our women's soccer players,” McGuire said. “She is highly committed academically, and strongly motivated to be an excellent goalkeeper. We see her developing nicely into a very capable Pac-12 athlete.”
Lisowski led Mitty to a near-perfect 16-0-1 record this season, surrendering just three goals across 17 games to win both the West Catholic Athletic League and Central Coast Section championships. The Monarchs, who rank No. 5 in the state and 10th nationally according to MaxPreps.com, also captured the CCS Championship in Likowski’s junior season. She turned in a pair of clutch overtime performances in penalty kicks in back-to-back playoff games. Lisowkski was an honorable mention on this year’s All-Mercury News squad and was voted “Most Inspirational” by her teammates.
Lisowski will join February signees Miranda Nild and Anja Koehler in the incoming freshman class, as well as LSU transfer Emma Fletcher, who joined the Bears in January.
