Cochran Places 22nd in Discus Throw at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Sophomore Ethan Cochran placed 22nd in the discus throw on day three of the NCAA Championships at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, on the campus of the University of Oregon Friday afternoon.

The Costa Mesa, Calif. native had a throw of 178-10 (54.50m) to finish his sophomore campaign. This season, Cochran was the runner-up in the discuss throw at the Pac-12 Track and Field Championship Finals. Earlier this year, Cochran set a career high in the discuss throw, with a toss of 190-3 (57.99m) in the Cal Outdoor Opener back in March. 

Freshman Bethan Knights will wrap up competition for the Bears on Saturday, June 13 when she will run in the 5000-meters final at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to follow along with live results, as well as on Twitter @Cal_Track.
