A

ADA Information
Cal Athletics is committed to guests with disabilities. Haas Pavilion is fully accessible and we provide a wide range of services and amenities for guests with special needs. Guests can receive more information by visiting one of our Guest Services Centers. For questions regarding ADA ticket information, please contact the Athletic Ticket Office at (800) GO BEARS or (800) 462-3277.
  • Although all entries are ADA accessible, the suggested path of travel is through Entry 1 on the first level of Haas Pavilion.
  • An elevator is available on the Northwest side of the arena to take patrons to Levels 2 and 3.
  • The main ADA seating is located on Level 3 and overflow is located on Level 4. 
  • Closed captioning is not provided at Haas Pavilion
  • Wheelchair Assistance – Medical Response Only


Alcohol Policy
Beer and wine sales will continue to be available in both the general seating area and clubs.  Industry best practices, including TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management coalition) training and designated driver program will be implemented to ensure the safety of all guests. 

  1. Policy Summary
    • Sales will take place at 6 stand-alone stands distributed around the arena. No in-seating vending. 
    • Wristband required to purchase, possess or consume alcohol.  Valid ID required. 
    • Sales limited to two alcohol beverages per person, per transaction. 16oz for beer, 6 oz for wine.
    • Possession or consumption of alcohol is not permitted in the student section.  Additional alcohol-free seating areas will also be available.
    • Enforcement will be managed through various teams.  UCPD, Athletics, Cal Dining, Landmark and BBC. 
    • Sales cut-off at start of 3rd quarter.  This is subject to change as needed.
    • Information or help is easily available through game day Twitter account or by calling 1-800-GO-BEARS.
    • All game day incidents will be reported to command post and tracked on 24/7 software.  
  2. Alcohol Policy
    • General Areas
      • 21+ wristband required to purchase, possess or consume alcohol.  Valid ID required.
      • No ID Check at point of sale – must obtain from ID check locations
      • Fans may only purchase up to two (2) alcoholic beverages per person, per transaction.
      • Alcohol to be served in clear plastic cups, services not to exceed 16 ounces for beer or 6 ounces for wine.
      • No in-seat vending.
      • No service to impaired guest. 
  3. Clubs
    • ID under 35
    • Fans may only purchase up to two (2) alcohol beverages per person, per transaction.
    • Alcohol to be served in clear plastic cups, services not to exceed 16 ounces for beer, 6 ounces for wine, or 1.5 ounces for distilled spirits which should never be sold in double servings.
    • No service to impaired guest.
 
Alcohol Management
  1. TEAM – Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management Coalition training
    • TEAM training educates and certifies all facility employees in the skills of how to identify patrons who may have overconsumed and to intervene in a non-confrontational way to properly ensure everyone’s safety.
    • Recognizing signs of impairment – JIRC
      • Judgement – Annoying others, making bad decisions, foul language, etc.
      • Inhibitions – Talking loudly, extremely relaxed, flirtatious, etc.
      • Reactions – Losing train of thought, unresponsive, slurred speech, glassy eyes, etc.
      • Coordination – Stumbling, falling, dropping things, swaying, etc.
    • Absorption Rate Factors
      • Gender, Rate of Consumption, Age, Size, Strength of Drink, and presence of food in system. 
  2. Alcohol Cut-Off Times
    • General Areas – beginning of 3rd quarter
    • Club Areas – beginning of 3rd quarter

Animals
Only service animals (dogs or miniature horses only) are allowed inside Haas Pavilion but must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Service animals must stay in seating areas - please do not block aisles. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of others may be asked to escort the animal off the premises. Remember, by law, a service animal is not required to wear any “service animal” identification vest. Comfort animals are not allowed.

Bag Policy
  1. Approved Bags
    • Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC not exceeding 12” x 12” x 6”
    • Small clutch approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle
    • Diaper bags – Infants for which bag is being carried must be present
    • Seat cushions (soft flexible, without frames or pockets 
  2. Bag Check
    • Bag check is located on the Bancroft side of Spieker Plaza next to The Playhouse and diagonal from the box office
    • Free bag check opens 1 hour before tip-off and closes 30 minutes after end of game

Cal Students
  1. Cal Students may only enter through Entry 6.  
  2. Only scanners assigned to Entry 6 will read student mobile tickets. 
  3. Wristbands will be issued at entry for Lower-Level Student Section. Once full, Overflow student section (Section 22) wristbands will be issued. 
  4. Student giveaways are only available at Entry 6.
  5. No alcohol is allowed in student section. 

Cameras & Photography
Still cameras with large lenses (over 6”), tripods & monopods are not allowed into venue.

Cashless Venue
For your convenience, California Memorial Stadium is now a cashless venue. The Cal Athletic Ticket Office, permanent concession stands, and permanent merchandise booths accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Clear Bag Policy
Designed to enhance safety and security for fans attending games at Haas Pavilion, Cal has implemented a clear bag policy, which defines the size and type of bags that may be brought inside for events. Exceptions will be made for patrons with diaper bags or medical needs. The policy mirrors that of many other professional and collegiate venues across the country. Cal Athletics offers a bag check located at the entrance to Spieker Aquatics Complex next to the Haas Pavilion ticket office (men’s basketball games only).

Bag check closes 30 minutes after the end of the event. Items that are not picked up will be delivered to UCPD station at Sproul Hall.
 

Club Rooms
Patrons must have Haas Club Room or Courtside Club tickets to enter club areas (men’s basketball games only).


Code of Conduct
Cal Athletics is committed to serving our fans by providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable game day experience. This ‘Fan Code of Conduct’ has been established to ensure that your experience is consistent with our commitment.

Failure to follow this Code may result in ejection from the facility, revocation of ticket privileges, and/or arrest. Although Season Ticket Holders may provide their tickets to others, the account holder of record is responsible for the actions of those using their tickets.
 
The following actions are prohibited:
  • Possession of any item listed on the ‘Prohibited Items List’
  • Use of foul, abusive, or obscene language or gestures
  • Fighting, taunting, or threatening remarks or gestures
  • Intoxication or signs of impairment related to alcohol or drugs
  • Failure to follow the directions of law enforcement or event personnel
  • Throwing objects or attempting to enter onto the field of play
  • Sitting in a seat other than one’s ticketed seat location
  • Engaging in any action that causes a disruption or interferes with the game
  • Refusal to remove clothing deemed offensive or obscene upon request
  • Smoking and/or tobacco use (No e-cigarettes)

Concessions stands are located in the following areas:
  • 1st Floor: Entry 2, Entry 4
  • 2nd Floor: Outside Section 14/15, Outside Section 17/18
  • 3rd Floor: Outside Section 10/11, Outside section 21/22, Outside section 24/25

Court Access
Access to the court will be limited to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and properly credentialed individuals at all times.

Dress Code
To help assure the safety and security of all guests at Haas Pavilion, Cal Athletics reserves the right to ask anyone with clothing deemed to be derogatory, profane, scantily clad or offensive to remove the item or cover up the item before entry into the venue. Those who refuse to abide by the dress code policy will be denied entry or removed from Haas Pavilion.

Elevators
Haas Pavilion has 1 Elevator located in the Northwest corner of the arena. All floors can be accessed through this elevator.


Ejection
Fans who refuse to follow the direction of stadium management or fail to comply with the Fan Code of Conduct may be subject to ejection and/or arrest without a refund of their game ticket and may lose ticket privileges.

Entry Opening Procedure (hours prior to kickoff)
  • 4 hours Prior: security permitter is activated. Entries 1, 7, 10 and Lower Level Haas Pavilion is open for credentialed staff and stickered building users
  • 4 hours prior: employee Check-in at Entry 8 is open
  • 1 hour prior: house is open

Emergency Information
Should you need immediate assistance, please notify the nearest event staff member, security personnel, police officer or Guest Services representative.


Evacuation
In the event of a serious emergency at Haas Pavilion that requires evacuation, all event staff, event security, police and emergency response agencies are ready and available to assist guests, including guests with disabilities. Pertinent information regarding the emergency situation and evacuation procedures will be provided over the public address system and on the stadium video board. Please remain calm and follow the directions of the public address announcer and nearest stadium management representative.

Fan Code of Conduct
Cal Athletics is committed to serving our fans by providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable gameday experience. Our Fan Code of Conduct has been established to ensure that your experience is consistent with our commitment. Failure to follow this code will result in ejection from the facility, revocation of ticket privileges and/or arrest. Although season-ticket holders may provide their tickets to others, the account holder of record is responsible for the actions of those using their tickets.

The following actions are prohibited:

  • Any action that disrupts other guests' enjoyment of the game
  • Possession of any item listed on the "Prohibited Items List"
  • Use of foul, abusive, obscene, or discriminatory (on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, gender identification, age, race, national origin, religion, military status, disability status or any other characteristic) language or gestures
  • Fighting, taunting, or threatening remarks or gestures
  • Intoxication or signs of impairment related to alcohol or drug use
  • Fans that appear to be inebriated and unmanageable will not be permitted admittance into the stadium and may be subject to arrest.
  • Failure to follow the directions of law enforcement or stadium management
  • Sitting in a seat other than one's ticketed seat location
  • Engaging in action that causes a disruption or interferes with the game
  • Refusal to remove clothing deemed offensive or obscene
  • Smoking and/or tobacco use

Gates
Gates open 1 hour before the event start times.

Guest Services and Fan Assistance

L

Lost & Found
All lost & found items may be turned in at a Fan Assistance location or with UCPD.  At the end of the game, all non-clothing items will be turned over to UCPD.  Fans may call (510-642-6760) or go to ucpd.berkeley.edu/services/lost-and-found to locate or post missing items the week after the game. 

Lost Children
Lost children should be directed to the nearest Cal Athletics Staff Member. Lost children will be taken to the Fan Assistance table located by Entry 3. Parents looking for a lost child should go to this location as well.

Metal Detectors
All patrons entering Haas Pavilion will be required to walk through metal detectors at the entrances to the venue. Please plan to arrive early enough to allow for this new security step and to ensure that you are in your seat and ready for your event on time.

Outside Food & Beverage
Only SEALED outside food and beverage (for personal consumption) is allowed. No glass, metal, or hard plastic containers are allowed. Fruit must be cut, prior to entrance.

Parking
Fans are encouraged to use public transportation when attending events on campus. The Downtown Berkeley BART station is located three blocks west of Haas Pavilion, and AC Transit buses service Bancroft Way near Haas Pavilion.

City-owned parking garages area within walking distance to Haas Pavilion: City of Berkeley Off-Street Parking

Nearby campus parking lots are reserved for season-ticket holders with season parking permits for men’s basketball games. For all other events, check lot availability and pricing at the lot entrance. Permitted Items
The following items are permitted in Haas Pavilion:
  • Bags that comply with the bag policy
  • Cameras with lenses 6 inches or shorter
  • Diaper bags accompanying a child
  • Food and fruit (must be cut into pieces)
  • Guide, signal and service dogs with guests that need their assistance
  • Soft plastic bottles (bottled water, soft drinks, no alcohol)
  • Seat cushions
  • Strollers (see bag policy)
  • Umbrellas

Police Services
UCPD will be located throughout Haas Pavilion. 

Programs & Yearbooks
Team yearbooks are available digitally on CalBears.com. Roster sheets are available at various locations on the first level.

Photo Bay
Photo bays are located on the right side of each basket. Bay occupancy will be pre-designated by Athletic Communications. Requests must be submitted 48 hours prior to the event.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located on the east and west sides of the building on levels 1 and 2, and on the north and south sides on level 3.

Re-Entry
To ensure a safe and more secure environment for everyone at Haas Pavilion, re-entry will not be allowed once you have left the arena.  Keeping our fans, coaches, student-athletes and officials safe and secure on gameday is of the highest priority.

Security & Screening
Cal Athletics aims to provide the safest and most enjoyable gameday environment for all Golden Bear fans in attendance. The following are lists of permitted and prohibited items inside Haas Pavilion. A clear bag policy is in effect and all guests are subject to search before being admitted into the venue. Items left outside the stadium by guests will be disposed of by stadium staff. The following information is subject to change.

Smoking Policy
Campus policy prohibits the use of tobacco, smokeless tobacco (e.g. moist snuff, chewing tobacco, snuff), and unregulated nicotine products (e.g. “e-cigarettes”) at all indoor and outdoor spaces owned or leased by UC Berkeley.

The aim of this policy is to:
  • Create a healthier environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Support tobacco users who are trying to quit
  • Reduce the number of new tobacco users by promoting the social norm of a tobacco-free environment

Student Gate
Students must enter Haas Pavilion through gate 6.

Temporary Disability
If patrons have a temporary disability, please contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 1 (800) 46s-3277. We will make the necessary arrangements for guests to attend the event in a comfortable and enjoyable manner. When calling, patrons should have the event, date of the event and seat information. 

Tickets & Ticket Office
To purchase tickets to an event at Haas Pavilion, visit the Cal tickets page on CalBears.com, call (800) GO BEARS (462-3277) or contact your Gold Standard service representative.

Office hours for the Cal Athletic Ticket Office are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the Haas Pavilion Box Office operates two hours prior to event start times.

Everyone 24 months and older must have a ticket to the game. Haas Pavilion has a “No Re-Entry” policy.

Visiting Team Family Waiting Area
The visiting team waiting area post game will be located in the North Lot of Haas Pavilion. They can enter out Entry 6 which is located on the orth concourse.
