Robert Briggs is in his second season as a manager at Cal in 2018-19 and his third associated with the school's men's golf program after also being on the team's active roster for one campaign in 2016-17.
Briggs did not play during his one season on the roster at Cal but has a pair of top-10 finishes at amateur events to his credit with fifth and tied for sixth-place showings, respectively, at the Concord City Amateur and Laspo Open in 2016. He also won the North Coast Section title in the spring of 2016 as a prep senior at Novato High School.
Briggs is an environmental economics major and the son of Mark and Janet Briggs.
