Griggs spent two seasons with the Cal men's golf program as a 2015-16 sophomore and 2016-17 junior, with all of his action coming in the fall of 2016 when he played in three events and was in the Golden Bears' lineup twice. His top performance came in his third and final appearance when he tied for 40 th while playing as an individual at the 2016 Alister MacKenzie Invitational. Griggs, who has decided not to use his final season of collegiate eligibity, walked on to the team in the fall of 2015 after spending two academic years at TCU and one season with the school’s men’s golf program in 2014-15. Griggs amateur career includes a win at the Stockton City Championship in 2015 followed by quarterfinal appearances at the Pacific Northwest Amateur and San Francisco City Championship in 2016. He was also third at the Contra Costa Amateur and tied for fourth at the Christmas Classic in 2014.
