Koji Uemastu comes to Cal from Japan where he was regarded as one of the world’s best gymnast in 2010.

Uemastu has earned a wide range of accolades throughout his career including a silver medal at the 2010 Artistic Gymnastic World Championships in the all-around competition, and Gold in the 2010 All-Japan Artistic Gymnastics Championships in all-around.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Sendai University (Shibata, Miyagi, Japan).
