Biography
INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS
- Won a gold medal as member of the USA 400m free relay at the FINA World Junior Championships in Lima, Peru. The foursome included future Cal teammate Rachael Acker; also finished fourth in the 50m free in 25.61.
NATIONAL SUCCESS
- Member of the USA Junior National team in 2011-12 in the 50m free and 400m free relay
CALIFORNIA SUCCESS
- At the 2017 NCAA Championships, placed 15th in the 100 free in 48.02 after swimming a PR 47.95 in morning qualifying. Also a member of Cal’s 800 free relay that finished as the national runner-up and was 27th in the 50 free and 22nd in the 200 free
- Had a productive 2017 Pac-12 meet, taking 10th in the 50 free (22.12), seventh in the 100 free (48.14) and ninth in the 200 free (1:44.51). Also posted a time of 1:43.66 leading off Cal’s 800 free relay B foursome
- Served as a team co-captain for the 2016-17 season
- Co-recipient of Cal's Most Improved Swimmer Award in 2015 and earned the Swimming Coaches Award in 2016
- Named second-team Pac-12 All-Academic as a sophomore and junior
- An honorable mention CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2014 and a first-team choice in 2015 and '16
- Earned a national title as a member of Cal's victorious 2016 NCAA team in the 200 free relay, swimming the second leg; also placed 29th in the 50 free (22.45) and 36th in the 100 free (49.25)
- At the 2016 Pac-12 Championships, won the B final in the 50 (22.30) and 100 (48.51) free and was 13th in the 100 back (53.17); also on the winning 200 free relay
- Qualified as an individual for the 2015 NCAA Championships, where she placed 43rd in the 50 free (22.67), tied for 41st in the 100 free (49.31) and finished 44th in the 100 back (54.30)
- Placed eighth in the 50 free (22.79), 17th in the 100 back (54.36) and 14th in the 100 free (49.25) at the 2015 Pac-12 meet
- At the 2014 Pac-12 Championships, placed 13th in the 50 free (22.88), 19th in the 200 free (1:48.30) and 24th in the 100 free (50.05)
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB SUCCESS
- 16-time state champion in individual and relay events
- Led her team to four straight state titles and to national championships in 2011 and ’12
- Holds records at Baylor School in the 50, 100, 200, and 500-yard freestyles
- Set a 15-16 age group national record in the 50y free with a time of 22.17 in 2011

- History major who plans to enter Teach for America in Atlanta following graduation
- Born on July 1, 1995
- Parents are Sandy and Roger Vredeveld. Her father swam and her mother played volleyball for University of North Carolina
- Brother, Nathan, swam for University of Virginia
- Has traveled to 44 states and seven countries
