Rachel Mercik enters her first season in 2015 as a student assistant coach on the California women's soccer team. Mercik was a four-year letterwinner for the Bears from 2010-13.

Cal Career

As a Senior (2013):

Team Captain …Started in all of Cal’s 21 games…Second-most goals scored (six) and assists (four)…Also second for points scored (16)…Scored goals vs. UC Irvine, UC Davis, Santa Clara, Arizona, USC and Stanford…Her golden goal at Stanford in the regular-season finale was Cal’s only golden goal of the season and helped the Bears to their first win over Stanford in six seasons…Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 12…Voted an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention

As a Junior (2012):

Played in every game for the Bears and started in seventeen of them... Put in one goal for the season...  Had four assists

 As a Sophomore (2011):

Played in 20 of the Bears' 22 games, starting nine... Doubled her previous year with four goals... Also chipped in two assists... Two of her goals were gamewinners

As a Freshman (2010):

Saw action in 12 of Cal's 20 games, starting four... Registered two goals and two assists... Had the game-winning goal against Long Beach State
