SEATTLE, Wash. - The No. 15 California men's soccer team lost to Washington, 2-1 in overtime, Friday afternoon in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match-up in Seattle. The Golden Bears are now 10-3-2 overall, 2-2-1 in the MPSF, while the Huskies improve to 8-4-2, 3-0 in the MPSF.

The ingredients were there for another Bear victory as Cal entered the game with a 9-0-1 record when they have scored first. Sophomore forward Chris Roner did his part to keep Cal's streak intact as he put Cal up 1-0 with a goal in the 53rd minute off a feed from junior forward Kendall Simmonds. The goal was Roner's third of the year and gave him 10 points for the year, surpassing the nine he posted as a freshman.

Washington drew even in the 59th minute with a header goal from midfielder Wes Hart off a cross from defender Billy Sleeth.

The game stayed even at one until the Huskies claimed the victory four minutes, 57 seconds into overtime when midfielder Benjamin Somoza netted an unassisted golden goal. The Bears are now 2-2-2 in overtime games this season.

Cal looks to get back on track Sunday when it faces Oregon State in Corvallis at 1 p.m.
