Cal Volleyball Loses To No. 7 UCLA

BERKELEY, CA - The University of California women's volleyball team (10-13, 5-9 in the Pac-10) fell to No. 7 ranked UCLA, 3-0 (15-8, 15-3, 15-9), Saturday evening at Haas Pavilion on the Cal campus. The Bruins, who had won 19 straight matches before losing to Stanford (3-1) Friday, improvs to 22-2 overall and 14-1 in the Pac-10.
The Bears were led by senior outside hitter Brook Coulter with a team-high 11 kills and 13 digs. UCLA was led by sophomore outside hitter Kristee Porter with 14 kills.
In the first two games the Bears were not a threat to the Bruins. Cal had its best effort in the third game when Coulter knocked down seven kills to get within 15-9.
Cal next travels to Arizona State on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. in Tempe and Arizona, Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
