General Comments:
"I thought our start was the key, and it was fueled at the defensive end. That's the second time in a row we've started out strong defensively. We're a much better team when we do that."
On playing team basketball:
"Boston really came out and turned up their defensively against us in the second half. For us to be good, we can't be a team that depends on one guy. We have to be a team that shares the ball, and I thought we did that. The key was unselfish play and finding the open man. I thought we showed that tonight."
On tomorrow's game against Boston University:
"They're going to be a tough team for us. It's gong to be a big challenge for our guys in the championship. Our players are going to have a lot of respect for (Michael Jordan's) quickness."
Boston University Head Coach Dennis Wolff ~
"Cal played extremely well. It's hard to judge how well because we were so bad. They played excellent defense, it was very impressive."
"Some of our guys looked shell shocked, which surprised me because we have played in atmospheres such as this one, but we just could not get anything started because of it."
"It will be tough for us to win if (Dereck) Franklin struggles the way he did and if (Matt) Turner comes off the bench like he did. I think that we have enough to work on to last us through the millennium."
