Box Score

CORVALLIS, OR. - After Oregon State and California each scored a goal in the first 4:26 of their Pacific-10 Conference men's soccer match on Friday, the teams went scoreless the rest of the afternoon and ended the overtime contest with the score tied 1-1. The teams played one overtime rather than the normal two before the game was called due to darkness at Lorenz Field at Valley Stadium.

The Beavers (5-5-1) jumped out of the starting blocks early when Aaron McHardy booted his third goal of the season to give OSU a 1-0 lead at 4:02.

The Bears (2-7-1) wasted little time responding, as Juan Luis Romero gained control of a loose ball near the top of the penalty box and launched a shot over Peter Billmeyer's hands into the back of the net to knot the game at 1-1 at 4:26 into the game.

The Bears were held to just five shots on goal, while OSU mustered only seven shots on goal.

Cal continues its Pac-10 season this Sunday at 2 p.m., when they take on the Washington Huskies.
