SUNNYVALE - Cal set a season high with 17 base hits as the sixth-ranked Bears outscored Kent State, 10-5, Friday in the National Invitational Softball Tournament.

After tallying one run in the first, Cal exploded for five runs in the second inning. Senior second baseman Lisa Iancin had the key blow, a three-run home run.

The Bears added another run in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth before allowing Kent to narrow the gap.

Junior Nicole DiSalvio improved to 7-0 on the year. She allowed five runs, but just three were earned.
