Hamilton, NY - The Cal women's lacrosse team scored on half its 26 shots in a 13-5 win over Villanova, improving its record to 6-5 on the season. The Golden Bears return to the Bay Area to take on the Stanford Cardinal, at Stanford, Friday.

The Bears built an insurmountable 7-1 lead by the half, then coasted in the second frame, adding six more scores before the final buzzer. The story of the trip continued to be the rapid improvement of freshman goalkeeper Hilary Lynch, who held the opposition to eight or less goals three times on the four-game trip. Lynch had previously allowed double digit goals in five of Cal's first seven games.

The Bear's next home game is April 11 against Northwestern at Memorial Stadium.
