SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - California forward Maggie Grimes deflected forward Valentina Godfrid's shot past Southwest Missouri State goalkeeper Jessie Liniger at the 48 minute, eight second mark, to lift the Bears to a 1-0 victory on Thursday at Plaster Field.

The win was the 250th in the program's history, and reversed a 1-0, overtime loss the Bears suffered to SMS on Wednesday. Thursday's victory was also Cal's first NorPac win this season. The Bears are 5-2 overall.

Cal recorded 24 shots on the night, forcing Lininger to make 15 saves.

The Bears play two more matches at Plaster Field, facing Ohio on Saturday at 11 a.m., and Saint Louis on Sunday at 1 p.m.
