STOCKTON, Calif. - The California field hockey team (4-6, 1-1 NorPac) dropped its second conference match of the season to Pacific (4-5, 2-0 NorPac), 2-1 Friday afternoon in Stockton, Calif., at Brookside Field.

Freshman forward Missy Crane scored the Golden Bears' lone goal of the game in the remaining minutes of the first period off a penalty corner; freshman forward Andrea Lo was credited with the assist. This was the second goal of the season for the Los Gatos native, her first coming against Miami (Ohio) on Aug. 30.

Defensively, goalkeeper Veronica Sykes collected three saves, bringing her season total to 42. All of Sykes' saves came in the second period.

Cal out shot Pacific 14-to-8, with 11 of the Bears' attempts coming in the second period. Junior forward Valentina Godfrid lead the team with seven shot attempts, Crane and senior midfielder Chilly Banuelos recorded three apiece and Lo had one attempt on the day.

The Bears will travel next to Davidson, N.C., to square off in three conference games against Davidson, Radford and Appalachian State. Cal gets the trip going Thursday, Sept 29, when it is at Davidson. Game time is slated 6:30 p.m. (EST).
