No. 12 Field Hockey Defeats Radford, 3-1

DURHAM, N.C. - The 12th-ranked California field hockey team scored two goals in the second half to stay undefeated in league play (5-0), with a 3-1 victory over conference foe Radford in Durham, N.C.
Radford scored first, with a goal from Stephanie McLamb, off a penalty corner 20 minutes into the game. Five minutes following Radford's goal, sophomore forward Andrea Lo tied up the game with a rebound shot off a Cal penalty corner. Senior backfielder Jamie Nance was credited with the assist.
The Bears rallied in the second half. Junior forward Jennifer Crane scored off a loose ball. Sophomore backfielder Christina McGrath gave Cal a 3-1 lead in the 61st minute, with a goal off a penalty corner. Sophomore backfielder Rachel Moffitt and Lo assisted in the play.
Defensively for the Bears, sophomore goalkeeper Veronica Sykes collected three saves in 70 minutes in the net.
The Bears will play their final regular season game at home against Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 28. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. (PT) start at Maxwell Family Field. Seniors Jamie Nance, Lisa Hauck and Valentina Godfrid will be honored prior to the contest.
