Woods Nails Three Homers in No. 7/8 Cal's 8-0 Win

HONOLULU, Hawaii - Senior Haley Woods hit three home runs to help No. 7/8 Cal to an 8-0, five-inning win over Florida International Sunday at the Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament in Hawaii.
Kristina Thorson (8-2) threw a one-hitter for the Golden Bears (12-2), who wrap up tournament play with a game against Mercer later this evening. Rain delays and cancellations have limited Cal to only three games this weekend.
Woods hit a grand slam in the fourth inning, scoring Morgan Siegel, Gina Leomiti and Julie Meyer. Siegel reached base on a walk, Leomiti reached on a fielder's choice, and Meyer singled to reach base.
Woods nailed a two-run homer in the first, scoring Lindsay James, who reached base on a single. Woods also had a solo shot in the third. James finished the day 2-for-3.
The Bears scored two in the first innings, one in the third and five in the fourth.
