Berkeley - The 20th-ranked Oregon Ducks rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the California Golden Bears, 8-2 in Levine-Fricke field on Friday afternoon.

Cal (32-30, 6-14 Pac-10) concludes its regular season tomorrow versus Oregon (42-16, 7-13 Pac-10) at 11:30 a.m. The Bears will honor their lone senior, Alex Sutton, before the start of the contest.

Oregon produced the first run of the game when Jenn Salling notched a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Suzie Barnes to score from third base in the top of the first.

The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning when Sutton blasted a two-run home run (her 11th of the season) over the center field wall, putting the Bears on top, 2-1 (Taylor Kelly also scored). The home run was Cal's 46th of the season, tying the program record for most home runs in a single season set in 2004.

The lead did not last long as the Ducks generated four runs on five hits in the top of the fifth to take a 5-2 lead. Neena Bryant and Joanna Gail accounted for four RBI in the inning.

Oregon tacked on three more runs in the sixth to take the 8-2 lead.

The Bears had their best scoring chances in the third and seventh innings, but left a total of five runners on base in those frames (nine for the game).

Sutton, Christina Schallig and Gina Leomiti all had two hits each for Cal in the losing effort.
