DAVIDSON, N.C. - Junior forward Andrea Lo scored in the 75th minute to give California a 3-2 overtime victory over Radford on Sunday afternoon on Belk Turf Field at Davidson College. The victory over Cal's NorPac Conference opponent gives the Golden Bears a 4-1 overall record and 3-0 conference record. The Highlanders fell to 2-6 (0-2).

Cal has won four straight after a season-opening loss to 15th-ranked Indiana.

Lo, who assisted on freshman forward Natalie Nurnberg's 12th-minute goal, tied Radford's Erica Lawrence for game-high scoring honors with three points each. The gamewinning goal is Lo's third of the season and second on the North Carolina road trip.

"She has been really consistent," Cal head coach Shellie Onstead said of Lo. "I've been playing her at forward and at midfield. I'm playing her in midfield right now and pushing Ashley [Glosz, a Cal junior] up. They are different positions and Andrea's making the right adjustments."

The Radford game was Cal's third in four days in Davidson.

"We're feeling the affects of that early in the season," Onstead said. "I don't mind scheduling that because that's how the conference tournament plays. We came out flat, and they were fired up to play the conference champs."

After a short corner in the third minute, Radford's Emily Jones scored off of Lawrence's stick stop to beat Cal senior goalkeeper Liz Braasch.

Later the Bears were awarded a penalty stroke when Highlanders freshman goalie Jennifer Wisniewski fouled Cal senior forward Jennifer Crane. Junior midfielder Carolina Bistue converted the ensuing stroke in the 10th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

In the 12th minute, Nurnberg deflected a Lo shot past Wisniewski to put the Bears ahead, 2-1.

In the 22nd minute, Braasch saved a shot by RU's Stephanie McLamb, but Lawrence shot the rebound over Braasch to tie the match at 2-2.

With about 30 seconds left in the first half, Radford had an apparent goal disallowed due to a foul call.

Cal, which outshot Radford, 16-7, for the game, had an advantage in each period, including 5-4 in the first half and 8-3 in the second stanza. But neither team could score in the second 35 minutes, as Wisniewski made five second-half saves and junior Kelly Knoche made two, on point-blank shots by RU's Megan Longtain, in the second period.

In overtime, Glosz passed to Lo from the top of the circle and Lo stuck the ball inside the right post for the winner.

The Bears are back home for their next two games, hosting Pacific in a non-conference match at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, and Stanford in a conference match at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, at Maxwell Family Field in Berkeley.
