Cal Falls in Exhibition Game to Dutch National Team
Feb. 26, 2008
Box Score
Berkeley -
The California softball team fell by a final score of 7-5 to the Dutch National Team at Levine-Fricke Field on Tuesday afternoon. The game does not count in Cal's overall record.
The Dutch National Team rallied from a 5-1 deficit with a six-run sixth inning to secure the 7-5 advantage.
One of the benefits of the exhibition game was that both teams had the luxury of playing everyone on its respective rosters in different positions with no limitations on substitutions.
Marissa Drewrey was the starting pitcher for Cal and allowed just two hits with four strikeouts in three innings of work. Valerie Arioto and Erika Racklin both had two runs each for the Golden Bears.
Cal travels to Las Vegas for the UNLV Classic, Feb. 20-Mar. 2. If Cal can defeat Long Beach State on Friday afternoon (its opening game of the tournament), it would give 21st year head coach Diane Ninemire career victory No. 900.
