Box Score

Berkeley - Julie Meyer supplied the offensive punch while Marissa Drewrey served up a pitching gem to help lift the No. 22-ranked California Golden Bears to a 3-0 win over Oregon State on Sunday afternoon at Levine-Fricke Field.

The Bears improved to 34-16, 3-6 in Pac-10 play. Cal resumes action on April 16 at St. Mary's in non-league action.

Meyer cranked her sixth home run of the season - a two-run shot - in the bottom of the second inning (Katie Vickers, who doubled to lead off the inning also scored).

Drewrey earned win No. 22 of the season after allowing six hits - all coming after the fourth inning - for her eighth shutout of the season. She walked just three and struck out two over seven innings. The sophomore also got out of a couple of jams in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings as well. In the fifth frame, OSU had the bases loaded and no outs. Drewrey induced a pop up for the first out, before Cambria Miranda slapped a shot to Katie Vickers who threw out a sprinting Tarah Black at the plate. Drewrey then got Audrey Roderfeld to line out to Vickers to end the inning.

In the seventh inning, Oregon State had runners on first and second with two outs, but Drewrey induced a groundout to end the game.

Vickers supplied a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to score Valerie Arioto for Cal's third run.
