The top-ranked UCLA Bruins defeated No. 21-ranked Cal, 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in Pac-10 softball play from Easton Stadium.
Cal (32-15, 1-5 Pac-10) returns home for more Pac-10 action versus Oregon and Oregon State this weekend at Levine-Fricke Field.
Cal's offense could not generate much production against UCLA's Anjelica Selden, who struck out 15 and scattered just five hits.
The Bruins unlocked a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning when Amanda Kamekona delivered a three-run home run off of Cal starting pitcher Marissa Drewrey for a 3-0 lead. UCLA padded its lead t o 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth when Jennifer Schroeder notched a two-run single to right field.
Katie Vickers had two of Cal's five hits, while Drewrey suffered the loss in the circle to fall to 20-9.
